The realisation that I’m returning to work

It’s 11:00am on the 28th October, what would appear to be your average Wednesday morning. Taylor is having his nap and I’ve got my first hot cup of tea. We’ve spent the morning playing, laughing and enjoying one another’s company. He is truly the most fun to be around, there isn’t time to feel sad […]

It’s in the Bag Baby – Everything But the Kitchen Sink!

Before I became a mum I carried around an array of colourful satchels in varying sizes, you’d usually find my iPad mini for reading and my pink beats headphones for the daily commute, a cadburys twirl, lip balm and a tonne of hand sanitiser. Simple! Now I precision pack a large bag with everything from nappies to nasal sprays.

Mum’s Night Off – We’re going to see Taylor Swift!

On Wednesday the 24th Phillip and I will be going to see Taylor Swift live at the MEN Arena, (no we didn’t name our son after Taylor Swift, or Taylor Hanson, or Taylor York… Although being a huge fan of T-Swift, Hanson, and Paramore (Throw in McFly and you have my dream festival line-up!) maybe my love of the name was a little subliminal? It’s a great name!) this will see me leaving Taylor for the longest time period to date, hopefully I’ll be too excited to worry too much, but of course I will worry.

Review: The Medela Swing and Harmony Breastpumps

Since before Taylor was born I knew that, if I could, I wanted to breastfeed. With the help and support of Medela we’ve been doing great. Taylor is now 14 weeks old and exclusively breastfed, I always look at him in wonderment when he feeds at the sheer joy I feel knowing he has grown, developed and thrived solely through me.
I’ve been using the Medela Swing Electric and Harmony Manual breastpump to start stock-piling my milk, I’m due to continue my driving lessons so I need to prepare for spending time away from Tails.

Milestone: Taylor’s First Week in The World

I’ve been a mum for an entire week and it has been the most surreal yet amazing week of my life. How has a week with this amazing tiny person passed us by so quickly? Should we have a cake to celebrate?
We brought Taylor home on Saturday the 3rd of January at 9:00pm after spending two nights in hospital, this was because I’d lost a lot of blood and could barely stand without blacking out, otherwise we would have been home sooner…

Pregnancy Update: Week 30 – Being Stroked From the Inside!

This week Baby C is as big a Hawaiian pineapple and weighs as much as a cabbage. I’d say they aren’t as prickly as a pineapple but with the prods I’ve been getting who knows? My bump still doesn’t seem to have gotten much bigger but it has changed a little since last week.

Although I can’t see the difference in my bump I can certainly feel it. We’ve officially lost the ability to bend, I have now mastered squatting for everything. So glamorous!
