Reusable nappies are something we spent a lot of time mulling over before baby T was born, it’s a big decision and one we couldn’t decide upon, it was easy for us to decide that we wanted to breastfeed or have him sleep in our bedroom but this was a whole other kettle of fish.

Today you are six months old 01/07/2015, halfway through your first year and six months away from your first Birthday, how is that even possible? I say this every month but time really is passing us by so fast, people love to tell parents of newborns to cherish every minute and they’re right.

As Taylor approached the six month mark I knew we needed to start preparing for the big W, WEANING! As a first time mum I really was clueless and unlike other mums I know, our HV hasn’t contacted us at all about weaning, thankfully the team at Vital Baby did and wanted to help guide us.

Last month saw me host my first Breastfeeding Café, as a Medela Mum and Café ambassador for my city I’ll be hosting one of these each month through to October. It’s a great way for local mums or my fellow breastfeeding friends to get together, eat cake (that’s important) Drink tea and talk.

Taylor received his first Sippee Cup from the lovely team at Tomee Tippee on our recent trip to The Baby Show at the Birmingham NEC. Although he had been exclusively breastfeeding at this point I still thought it was important for Taylor to learn to hold and use a cup from an early age.

Before I became a mum I carried around an array of colourful satchels in varying sizes, you’d usually find my iPad mini for reading and my pink beats headphones for the daily commute, a cadburys twirl, lip balm and a tonne of hand sanitiser. Simple! Now I precision pack a large bag with everything from nappies to nasal sprays.
