After last years exciting blog tour featuring Giovanna Fletchers debut novel I was thrilled to be asked back to take part again this year for the publication of her second novel You’re the One That I want.

This is a heartwarming tale of love, friendship and family. Touching on many themes from divorce to the bureaucracy of social services alongside the challenges of being a single parent and still keeping up with the school PTA, Kate Anthony has managed to write about an array of serious subjects whilst also giving it a light hearted side showing it’s not always bad.

JoJo Moyes has given us an in-depth tale that captures everyday life in its truest form, it isn’t extravagant or far-fetched and this allows the reader to feel naturally drawn to the characters. This is a book that deals with every day issues that many families across the UK are facing right now, financial struggles, relationship issues, bullies and more.

Gretel and The Dark is a very dark, complex and hard-hitting novel which is not what I was expecting. I was prepared for a mature take on Grimm’s fairy tales, a story of magic and wonderment. This book however is on another level!
