Book Blog Tour: You're the One That I Want by Giovanna Fletcher

After last years exciting blog tour featuring Giovanna Fletchers debut novel I was thrilled to be Giovanna Fletcherasked back to take part again this year for the publication of her second novel You’re the One That I want.

Gi’s latest book is themed around three best friends and begins with a wedding, by following the tour you’ll find out everything you need to know about the wedding day from Maddys hen do to the cake and even the first dance.

Today we have a very special part of the big day to share with you, the all important Wedding Dress!

Over to Giovanna –

Her Wedding Dress:

Maddy’s not a girlie girl – how could she be when she’s spent the majority of her life flagged by Robert and Ben? However her wedding day would be an exception to her boyish flair, instead she’d be elegant, feminine and every inch the traditional bride!
Ivory would be the chosen colour – the softness of it complementing the earthiness of her auburn hair. Plus, after great thought she’d decide against the image of the virgin bride in white – she’s hardly void of sin. Ivory she could manage, but white would make her feel like a big fat liar when stood in front of the congregation and vicar – and that’s hardly an emotion one would like to feel on their wedding day… So ivory it would be.
Although opting to be a traditional bride, she, unsurprisingly, wouldn’t go for the princess dress (too Barbie-like and out of her comfort zone), but she would go for an A-line gown with a fuller bottom – made in Duchesse Satin, but overlaid with loose Organza for a softer look, the dress would fan out gradually from the waist down, from just below a thin piece of mint chiffon (the same colour and material as the bridesmaids) – which would be tied into a bow at the back and cascade down softly.
The top half would be elegant and simple – with a sweetheart neckline that would be covered in a thin layer of organza, taking the neckline up into a scooping one, and delicately covering her arms down to her wrists. An extremely thin band of duchesse satin would frame the fabric there and at the neckline.

Its safe to say the dress sounds devine! I can imagine Maddy wearing it while looking down the isle toward her two lovely best friends.

The Blurb

Maddy, dressed in white, stands at the back of the church. At the end of the aisle is Rob – the man she’s about to marry. Next to Rob is Ben – best man and the best friend any two people ever had. And that’s the problem.

Because if it wasn’t Rob waiting for her at the altar, there’s a strong chance it would be Ben. Loyal and sensitive Ben has always kept his feelings to himself, but if he turned round and told Maddy she was making a mistake, would she listen? And would he be right?

Best friends since childhood, Maddy, Ben and Rob thought their bond was unbreakable. But love changes everything. Maddy has a choice to make but will she choose wisely? Her heart, and the hearts of the two best men she knows, depend on it…
