The Mombella Octopus Doo Baby Teether

The Mombella Octopus Doo is a BPA free, silicone teether designed to ease the pain of teething in young babies.

We all know how awful tooth ache can be so imagine having your teeth push their way out and cutting through the gum. Thankfully most of us don’t have any memory of it!

As a parent I can only imagine the pain my baby feels when cutting a new tooth and now at 8 months old he has four. Along the way we’ve had a lot of sleepless nights with flushed red cheeks, tonnes of dribble and might as well have bought shares in Anbesol liquid.

I’ve tried numerous teethers from gel filled to frozen but Taylor usually opts for the hard rubber ones that he can really chew on and not the soft silicone ones. I was surprised when he took to the Mombella Octopus, he especially loves chewing on the bumpy tentacles.

With eight tentacles to choose from Taylor is spoilt for choice. The top of each tentacle has hard nobbly bits whilst the underneath has softer rounded bobbles which gives a choice of textures to chew on. We also liked how his little coloured hat is also textured and makes another great spot for chewing on.

The Octopus Doo can also be frozen, sterilised and sanitised easily. Made from food graded silicone technology the small size and ergonomic design means Taylor has no problem gripping the teether and can handle it by himself easily.  It is also reassuring that the tentacles are a good size to reduce the risk of choking with one in his mouth.

Overall Taylor and I love this teether! It has helped Taylor to cut two of his four teeth, it has eased his pain and saved my sanity. The Octopus Doo has earned itself a place amongst my teething essentials!

The Mombella Octopus Doo can be purchased for £10.80 on Amazon. What are your essential items when it comes to teething? For me it has to be a good teething toy and antiseptic numbing agent. Keep the conversation going and let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

That sounds like a great teether. It’s so cute. Your son is a little cutie too. X

    • Lisa – LeeLeeLoves

Thank you, he loves his new octopus friend 🙂 Xx,

  • Aly

This is just perfect for my SIL and friend who have teething babies at the moment.I made ice lollies from my breast milk and put lots of Calgel on their gums.

    • Lisa – LeeLeeLoves

I also make breastmilk lollies, such a good idea! I have another teeth too which is made for having milk lolly made over it, I’m yet to try it though. I hate expressing such a small amount for lollies 🙁 Xx

  • Zoë Forde

It’s so cute! I love how simple kids things like teethers are now stylish and well designed accessories. 😛 x

    • Lisa – LeeLeeLoves

You can even get jewellery now that mums wear but intended for babies to chew on. Madness! Xx

  • Cute photos – and I bet those tentacles provide extra relief – clever design 🙂

    • Lisa – LeeLeeLoves

They really do, I’m really impressed by it so far 🙂 Xx

  • Tori Gabriel

I’m in teething hell at the moment. Lots of Calpol and very little sleep. I found teething granules work for my baby (I was really surprised).

Great review. May have to look out for this.

    • Lisa – LeeLeeLoves

I tried granules and saw no difference, glad they’re helping you though! It’s all about the magical Anbesol liquid here, it numbs the gum so he definitely approves! Xx

  • Erin Ek Rush

What a great idea – it’s great it has so many bumps and you and freeze it as well! Teething is terrible for little ones (or at least it was mine!) That would make a fantastic baby gift!

    • Lisa – LeeLeeLoves

I think the amount of bumps are what makes it so good for Taylor, he loves it! Defintely a great gift and a choice of little octopus hat colours so it can be suited to genders for a shower. Xx

  • Ronke

    Taylor is adorable.
Teeheee! Sorry I was totally distracted by his cuteness. This products sound great – I might buy one for a friend who has just had a baby.

    • Lisa – LeeLeeLoves

Ah thank you! I must agree but may also be biased 😛
Definitely a cute baby gift, you can choose hat colours too. Xx

  • TheL’s Mum

Awww how adorable is Taylor? I love the idea of this teether. My little man really struggled with his teeth and I just didn’t know what to do. I too could have bought shares in anbesol. This is going on the list for the next baby for sure.

    • Lisa – LeeLeeLoves

Anbesol is so good, after being told about it I bought some and now have 2 bottles in a drawer as my back up supply! I can’t imagine running out of it. Xx

  • Zena’s Suitcase

I love this teether. My daughter has a terrible time and doesn’t get a break from teeth coming through. I’ll be checking this out for her. It’s definitely got to help, and it’s super cute too

    • Lisa – LeeLeeLoves

Is it just me or does it feel like teething never ends? Once one cuts through another starts! Xx

  • Beautyqueenuk

Oh this is such a cute teether and it is nice to see something other than Sophie the Giraffe, cute thought she is, around.

    • Lisa – LeeLeeLoves

We have a Sophie but one of the solid rubber ones, not the big silicone one and he loves her but I’ve noticed he’s opting for the octopus more often now. Xx

  • Michelle Murray

Ooh teething is such a hard time. We bought little J a sophie the giraffe. Its very similar to this both in colour and design. He loved it and like you it helped so much x

    • Lisa – LeeLeeLoves

Sophie is also brilliant, she has less bobbly bits but definitely also a winner in our house! Teething is a nightmare. Xx

  • Looks like the octopus is a good solution.

We were lucky in that a teething anklet did the job until the later more painful teeth.

    • Lisa – LeeLeeLoves

Oh was it Amber? I’ve heard a lot but not tried it! Xx

  • Kerry Louise

I’ve not come across this teether before, it looks great! i think I buy Harry one as he’s started being a bit grouchy with his teeth recently and we’ve lost sophie!!! I love Taylors hair so adorable!!xx

    • Lisa – LeeLeeLoves

We have a Sophie but one of the solid rubber ones, not the big silicone one, Taylor loves it. I think he prefers the bobbly tentacles on this though, he pulls at it and is really content.

Just read Harry’s 8 month update and they’re at pretty much the same stage teeth wise. Taylor knows 2 babies their age at sensory class who haven’t got a tooth between them! Our boys are growing so fast. Xx

  • Sarah Golding

The octopus looks great, I’ve never seen it before. Baby L is 8 months as well but haven’t started teething yet, although I don’t expect to as DJ didn’t get his first tooth until gone 12 months. We used nelsons teething granules and sophie but Baby L doesn’t like sophie as much so might try the octopus, thanks

    • Lisa – LeeLeeLoves

We tried the granules but they didn’t seem to do anything 🙁 Xx

  • Ana De Jesus

What a great baby tether, I know all too well how difficult it is when a baby is teething but the octopus looks more effective then most that I have tried out.

    • Lisa – LeeLeeLoves

We’ve used plenty of alternatives and this alongside his rubber Sophie have been great! Xx

  • What a fab teether. Joseph is also at the teething stage (he has his bottom 2 teeth through) and I hate seeing him in pain. This looks ideals as there are so many tentacles for a baby to chomp on

    • Lisa – LeeLeeLoves

It’s really good, Taylor will sit chewing and pulling at the tentacles for ages and seems really content when he has it! It’s horrible to see them so unhappy with it 🙁 Xx

  • What a cute tether and such a lovely little model. This would be a perfect gift for a baby shower or birthday

  • First of all, Taylor is adorable! I love this teether! I wish they had had these around when my son was younger! This would have been perfect! I’ll keep it in mind for baby shower gifts !

  • Ickle Pickle

This teether looks great – Pickle still suffers at almost 3! I use a gel on his gums, and lots of cuddles 😉 Kaz x

  • Laura Haley

What a cutie, I love that fox jumper he’s wearing. The teether looks like a great gift for friends with babies, I will make a note of it.

    Laura x

  • Nic Dransfield

I think I might have to buy one of these!
