A place to play with Skip Hop

Creating a clean and comfortable space for the children to play has always been a challenge in our house.

Like many, we have hardwood floors throughout. And Ever since Harriet could move she would be knocking her head on it!

We’ve always had a rug in the sitting room for them to play on, although keeping it clean with two little ones was always a challenge. We also had the Skip Hop Silver linings play mat. Which was perfect when H was a baby. With its padded mat and built-in toys, we loved it. But once she was on the move we needed a new solution. Something bigger, with padding!

Every month sees a different development milestone when you have a baby. And having somewhere safe for them to lay down to learn all these vital skills is important. That’s why we love the Vibrant Village Reversible Playmat from Skip Hop.

I had seen many similar products on the market, for a much higher price. aimed at matching your home decor whilst making it child-friendly. It’s exactly what I wanted. When I came across the vibrant village mat with a sophisticated neutral pattern on one side and fun playful design on the other I was sold!

Not only does the mat look great in our sitting room, but it’s also easily wiped clean. After a few months of extensive use, we have had a small tear to our mat, likely caused by the rough play of a 4-year-old. This hasn’t affected its functionality and I still love it. I love this mat so much I’d love to put a second one in the kitchen where the children also play.

I’m able to spray mop the mat daily meaning I’m more confident that the children are playing in a clean space. Harriet seems to catch every bug she comes into contact with. So a clean play space was vital to me. And a soft landing was an added bonus. She’s no longer bumping her head off of the hard floors throughout the day. Instead, she’s happily pottering about on her mat, playing with her toys and loving life.

Leaving me to sit back and watch her play!

Our mat has become a central talking point in our home. Everyone who visits asks about it. I keep the mat on the grey geometric print side but it does have a fun road pattern on the other side. Which we also use for driving toy cars along! It’s also been brilliant as a padded base for our Skip Hop Jumscape to sit on.

The Skip Hop Vibrant Village Reversible Playmat is suitable from birth and will last well into your little ones early years. The playmat is available to buy from Amazon and various other retailers. With a selection of prints and patterns, the mat retails at £100.
