Five uses for a travel cot with the Graco Nimble Nook

When we received the Graco Nimble Nook I was probably more excited than anyone should be over a travel cot. We weren’t going away, I wasn’t excited at the prospect of a nice break, no. The travel cot has so many uses and I was looking forward to using it at home the most.

1. Showering without losing your sanity

We have a playpen, a big metal hexagon of a baby jail, it’s amazing however, during a year of maternity leave my only way of showering was to strap Tails into his baby swing, he may be small but by 12 months old the swing wasn’t really the most appropriate for him and I needed somewhere on the 3rd floor of our town house to put him down safely. Tails spent every morning from birth outside the door to our en-suit as I showered. The Nimble Nook is the perfect size to fit into the space where his swing once sat and I can once again shower without him screaming. It’s perfect.

2. Festive naps at grandma’s house

Over Christmas we spent most days at the in-laws, we live locally so their was no need to stay the night. Although once you get 3 men and their father sat around an Xbox at Christmas you can expect to be there a while, we took the Nimble Nook with us and used it for playing safely away from the dog as well as napping. It’s so quick to pop up and pack away.

4. Toy storage

When not in use for the safety or sleep of a small child you can use it for dumping the 10 tonnes of plastic that has been lay across your floor all day. Or in our case Grandmas floor. Whilst we’re staying with the in-laws it’s the downstairs hide away to keep toys safe from the dog. It would be great if Tails didn’t continuously throw his toys out for the dog.

5. Travel!

Of course, it’s a travel cot and it’s perfect at being just that. We’ve used it to visit relatives and on a little ‘staycation’ to Scotland. It fits in the boot of the car easy as it’s so compact, it’s smaller than other travel cots I’ve seen but our child isn’t a giant either so it works perfectly for our needs, you can also fit it into narrow spaces which was ideal whilst away.

Upon receiving the Nimble Nook we were in the middle of Christmas, a broken boiler and moving house. It came in handy on numerous occasions.

Look out for our next post to see how the Nimble Nook fared when we took it on our travels.
