Disney on Ice - World of Enchantment at Manchester Arena

Last week we went out for a Disney filled evening of fun to see Disney on Ice World of Enchantment at the Manchester Arena, I must admit I really wasn’t sure if it was wise to take a 9 month old along to such an event, especially now he can crawl and doesn’t want to sit still, but I’m such a big kid we couldn’t not go!

I was already prepared to leave early in the event that Taylor were to become restless or start screaming bloody murder whilst everyone is singing princess songs. To my amazement he was content for the entire two hours, if anything he was in awe and spent much of the show watching intently.

Hosted by the lovely Mickey and Minnie Mouse, who were also joined by their friends Donald and Goofy, the first half of the show was Toy Story themed and followed the story from the 3rd film. This meant we got to see big old grumpy Lotso Huggin Bear bounce around on Ice Skates, it was brilliant! There was also a very entertaining Sheriff Woody who was a pro on skates.

The show included acts from The Little Mermaid, which Taylor surprisingly seemed to enjoy the most, and Cars. Before the one every little princess was waiting for, Frozen! I was curious as to how such acts would work on the ice but the entire concept worked really well and each film was portrayed exceptionally well.

The show was funny, entertaining and overall made for a very enjoyable evening. It’s certainly something I would like to do again with Taylor once he is older and can remember the experience, but that didn’t stop him from having a fantastic time.

As a huge fan of Disney myself I had such a great time, I thought the performances were acted out perfectly and seeing them on ice was just that little bit more magical.

You can see Disney On Ice presents Worlds of Enchantment across  the UK from 25th September to 29th December in Glasgow, Birmingham, Newcastle, Manchester, Sheffield and London.

I’m sure my little one would love something like this (she’s a big fan of Minnie and Mickey!) but unfortunately these type of shows never come to the North east of Scotland 🙁

  • Great photos – so that’s what a Disney on Ice show looks like, I’d always wondered! Sabrina xx

  • Jade Lewendon

I am so jealous reading this post and seeing all your amazing photo’s! I am a huge Disney fan, even though I’m 25, I’ve been a fan since I was a small child and most probably will be until I’m an old lady! I too would of been worried about taking a nine month old, but I’m glad he was content and you all had a lovely time! x

  • Zoë Forde

I’ve heard such great things about Disney on Ice, even for us adults who don’t have kids! Glad you had a great time x

  • Newcastle Family Life

We went to see this last week in Newcastle and we loved it. My daughter is two and she sat on her seat amazed watching everything which was so cute. I didn’t take my little boy though as he is one and won’t sit still. Well done Taylor on sitting watching it. xx

  • Helen WonderfullyAverage

  • I have always wanted to take my little one as my mum took me when I was younger and she said I loved it! It’s amazing what can capture the attention of our little ones and it’s even better that it was a bit of Disney magic. Well done Taylor 🙂 x

Oh my gosh! How magical does it looks! I’ve always wanted to see a Disney On Ice show, but I can’t seem to get it done for some reason! I have to check the UK Tour to see if I’ll manage to see the London one. Thank you for the lovely pictures, it gave me a magical preview of what I could expect 🙂

  • Sarah Golding

Wow I love Disney. That’s impressive if it kept a 9 month old still, mine is on the move constantly as well! Will definitely take the boys when they’re old enough to appreciate Disney

  • That’s impressive how good he was. I know N struggles to sit still for more than an hour in the theatre, and I didn’t dare take him until he was 3!

  • Amy

It looks incredible, I would really like to go. You managed to get amazing pictures too! x

  • I have a little lady who would LOVE to see Disney on Ice. I plan to take her next time it’s near us, so loved reading your review 🙂
