B. Skipping Stones Toy

As baby develops and grows it’s good to encourage them to learn new skills. The B. Skipping Stones toy from B. toys is a great way to develop fine & gross motor skills whilst having fun!

Taylor and I have been playing with this for a few weeks now, it’s recommended for ages 6 – 12 months although most development charts I’ve seen state a child can complete a ring stacker between 12 and 18 months Taylor is now able to stack a few of the pebbles before getting frustrated and simply throwing them, usually at me!

With ergonomic rounded shapes making it easier for tiny hands to grasp the skipping stones stack neatly on top of one another creating a tower of fun. I like the different shapes on this toy unlike similar products which stack symmetrically. it’s more fun to look at and reminds me of something from Dr Seuss with it’s odd shapes and vibrant colours sitting alongside our Seuss toys in the nursery.

Their is no right or wrong way to stack these colourful shapes, they look great in any order and try telling a 10 month only the green goes before the pink. We’ve had plenty of fun building towers on and off the stacking pole, throwing shapes, drooling on them and wearing them on our heads!

I particularly love this toy for its added features. You wouldn’t think a simple ring stacker had added features but this one does! Each pebble is a different shape for little hands to grasp instead of simple circular rings and they’re also textured. Each pebble has a different texture of material to it, some are smooth, others are bumpy and one is squishy rubber, Taylor’s favourite!

A fun twist on a traditional toy that little ones will love on their first Christmas. This toy gets the #TaylorTries seal of approval from us!

You can purchase your own B. Skipping Stones toy from B. toys via Amazon for a RRP of £9.99 – We were sent this product for the purpose of this review, all views and opinions are our own. All suggestions to wear the stones on your head like doughnuts are also our own 😉

I like that they use different shapes to improve dexterity and fine motor skills as no two children are the same and this would definitely aid their development. The use of primary colours is good too as it can teach them about the main colours.

Love toys that also enable skills, those look fab for little hands.

Although we haven’t tried out this brand yet.

  • This is lovely – my daughter’s stacking rings were one of her favourites, and they were textured and rattled/jingled too but these look a step up.

  • They sound and look like really good toys and seems Taylor agrees, they would make a lovely present this time of year

  • These sound really good! I love that the fact that each one has a different texture. I am sure Monkey would have loved these at Taylors age xx

What a great development toy. I can imagine you didn’t have much joy trying to explain the order, I was the same with similar toys with Little L. Great christmas idea and fab review thanks for sharing.

This sounds great. I’ve just bought Aria a set of star shaped stacking cups, I wish I’d seen this beforehand as I love the idea of the different shapes and textures.

  • Hello Archie • blog

I love this! Especially the idea that they don’t have to go in any particular order as A has one with different sizes and he has no interest and why should he? Thanks for linking up to #MarvMondays. Kaye xo

  • This looks and sounds great!!! What a lovely idea!! Definitely the option of not having to go in any particular order is a plus. Perfect gift for Christmas! Thanks for sharing, 🙂 xx
