Personalised Thank You Cards

This week I’ve finally taken the time to start making thank you cards for the lovely gifts Taylor has received since his arrival. Before he was born I bought some cute die-cut thank you cards in the sales, I think they’re intended for weddings but they seemed too cute to pass up.

I also used the Kirstie Allsopp stamp & stationary kit from the *Hobby Craft Gift selection which I thought would be perfect for the cards.

I chose two of my favourite pictures of Taylor to put on the front of the cards and printed a few sheets for the project.

I attached the the owl cut out and photograph onto the front of a plain white card which I cut to size, I think these would also look great over coloured card.

Using the stamps I decorated the envelopes and the inside of the cards to give them more of a personal hand-made touch. The stamps read ‘Just a note’ and ‘Thank You’ leaving plenty of space for me to write a message from Taylor. I’m also going to attempt to put his handprint inside the cards on the left.

Overall I think the cards are cuter and more personal than a store bought card or having one printed. As a graphic designer I could have easily designed a card to print but who could pass up the chance to get crafty and give back something personal to loved ones?

I absolutely love receiving cards and letters from children, I received a great card with glittery hand prints from a friends little girl and it’s the personal element that makes them so special, I’ll certainly be making sure Taylor gets creative when thanking people once he’s big enough to get involved.

Did you send thank you’s after having your baby or do you have your little ones write/draw cards to thank people for Birthday and Christmas gifts?
