A journey to a better bed time with Bubbaroo

Since we joined forces with Bubbaroo and the Infant Sleep Consultants four weeks ago, taking on the challenge of changing Taylor’s sleep habits, we have seen some drastic changes. Taylor’s sleep has improved tenfold and as our journey comes to close I’m thrilled to say, we did it!

If somebody had told me four weeks ago that Taylor would not only be sleeping through most nights but also self settling I’d have laughed. Had they then told me he would be going to sleep independently, without being breastfed, allowing somebody other than myself to put him to to bed. Well, that’s just crazy talk. Isn’t it? Apparently not.

Our main goal was to get Taylor used to going to sleep without being breastfed. Having gone from a routine where he would be breastfed to sleep, waking a minimum of twice a night, to going to sleep by himself from 7:00pm – 6:00am most nights is just shy of a miracle.

Taylor is still going to sleep in his 2.5tog Bubbaroo baby Joey Swag bag each night and using his lovely blanket and we love them, even more so since we currently have a broken boiler and very chilly house, but that’s a story for another day!

Since implementing our new routine we’ve tried our best to stick to it where possible. I still can’t believe I had an evening out and came to home to Taylor asleep in his cot where he stayed until morning, we’ve achieved so much in such a small space of time simply by adjusting our routine and the way in which we deal with the situation when he does wake.

We’ve gone from being up and down all night feeding and settling to having our evenings completely free. Honestly, gaining 3 hours an evening is amazing. You wouldn’t believe what can be done with 3 hours!

We would like to thank Bubbaroo and Katie from The Infant Sleep Consultants for their help and support on our journey to a better nights sleep. Without them I’d most likely still be breastfeeding numerous times throughout the evening and operating on very little sleep.

We’ve really enjoyed implementing the new routine and learning new techniques to benefit us as family, overall it’s been a great experience that’s helped us so much!

Glad you’ve found something that works. Getting into a good sleep routine is so important for everyone and if you can do it early on it benefits the child so much.
