‘Today is my death anniversary. A year ago today I was still alive.’

News!: Today marks the publication of Hannah Beckermans highly anticipated debut novel and my god is it good! I will share with you my review of this fantastic heart wrenchingly laugh out loud novel in a few days time but I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to shout about this novel and let you know its here right NOW and you really need to read it! You can also  read the first chapter of the book right here – Read The First Chapter

The Blurb –

‘Today is my death anniversary. A year ago today I was still alive.’

Rachel, Max and their daughter Ellie had the perfect life – until the night Rachel’s heart stopped beating.

Now Max and Ellie are doing their best to adapt to life without Rachel, and just as her family can’t forget her, Rachel can’t quite let go of them either. Caught in a place between worlds, Rachel watches helplessly as she begins to fade from their lives. And when Max is persuaded by family and friends to start dating again, Rachel starts to understand that dying was just the beginning of her problems.

As Rachel grieves for the life she’s lost and the life she’ll never lead, she learns that sometimes the thing that breaks your heart might be the very thing you hope for.

Hannah Beckerman gives an unforgettable exploration of love and loss in her first novel, The Dead Wife’s Handbook.

Praise for The Dead Wife’s Handbook:

‘Beautifully written and full of love’ Fern Britton

The Promo Video  –

A few of us rather crazy and obviously lovely book-ish people took to the tube (the viral internet sort not the underground) to tell everyone what we wanted to be remembered for and to promote this brilliant new novel. Have a watch, have a giggle. I still cringe every time I see or hear myself! 😉

The Cover  –

This cover stands out so much for me, I absolutely love it. As somebody who has to keep up with the latest trends in graphic design for a living book covers are very much my weakness, their is no set style or trend and can vary so much from one book to another. They may not be relevant to my particular line of work but the choices and thought process followed in order to represent a novel in a single image fascinates me always. This book is no exception, the team at Penguin have created stunning imagery that to me depicts our main character Rachel while she is looking down on the world, sharing elements of the beauty in everything she can no longer physically experience. The vivid colours and the spot UV used to accentuate detail are simply perfect.

If you’re looking for something new to read and certainly something different to the norm Hannah’s book is available to purchase now and I would recommend it.
