Happy World Book Night!

World Book Night is a celebration of reading and books which sees tens of thousands of passionate volunteers gift specially chosen and printed books in their communities to share their love of reading. World Book Night is celebrated on April 23. In 2013 it is being celebrated in the UK, Ireland and the USA.

I have been a giver three years running now, there are many positives to being a giver for World Book Night and each year you can submit an application to become a giver, it’s great fun and I highly recommend it.

Last year I gave copies of Stephen kings Misery  I still remember the shock on the faces of an elderly couple on their way to the airport for a holiday when I asked them if they would like a copy of the book for free, they were really pleased and said it would be perfect for while they were away. Not only were they really happy but I left feeling really good about myself too!

This year I’m going go be giving copies of Me Before You by JoJo Moyes, as you may know from my review I really enjoyed this book and having to opportunity to share it with everyone is great. I recommend this book to everyone and now I can actually give them a copy.

The only problem I have faced this year is that my local library couldn’t find the books when I went to collect them, this means I won’t be able to take part this evening. It’s never too late to give books though so as soon as I get the books I’ll be giving them out!

If you would like a copy keep a look out, I shall be leaving a few copies on my commute between Manchestet and Leeds. I’ll tweet which train they’re on using the hash tag #LeeLeeLovesBooks

These are all of the book titles you can expect to find givers handing out this year so keep a look out for books in your area!
