LeeLeeLoves fave 5 books of 2013

As 2013 comes to a close I’d like to share with you five of the books I enjoyed most this year! Its been a busy year between moving house (again) and changing job but I’ve still been reading.

To those of you who visit the website  and the fantastic book lovers and authors I have met along the way I hope you have a fabulous 2014 with lots of great reading and writing.

Now lets get down to the nitty gritty!

Number Five

solomons-tale

Solomons Tale is a book that I adored, its about a cat who is sent to look after a family in need and its a very sweet heart warming story.A story of love, courage and strength. You’ll laugh, cry and never look at cat in the same way again. Its like cats and Christmas rolled into one…This book was published on the 21st of November by Avon books, written by Sheila Jeffries.

Number Four

christmas-at-carringtons-cover

This is the first Carringtons book I have read… I loved it so much that before I had finished reading it I had already purchased its predecessors Cupcakes at Carringtons and new Novella Me and Mr Carrington.

I haven’t posted my review of this book yet but I can say it was PERFECT! My heart was in my mouth wondering if it was going to end how I wanted. A brilliant festive feel good romance to finish the year with.

This book was published on the 5th of December by Harper, written by Alexandra Brown.

Number Three

yours-truly-cover

As a debut novel I don’t think this book could have been any better, its literally laugh out loud hilarious. It made me snort. Attractive I know!

The characters in this book are just so likeable that you’ll wish you knew Natalie. I just wish Little Trooley did exist so I could live there.

This book was published on the 21st of November by Pan Macmillan, written by Kirsty Greenwoood.

Number Two

A-Passionate-Love-Affair-Cover

I read A Passionate Love Affair With a Total Stranger at the very start of 2013 and it has stuck with me ever since, its not your average soppy predictable love story; It brings a whole new meaning to love stories and it’s exciting, it’s not just about passion and romance it’s filled with mystery and abundant with hilarity.

This book was published on the 31st of January by Penguin, written by Lucy Robinson.

Number One

Billy-and-Me-Cover

Billy and Me had me with the cover alone and was my most memorable read of 2013. This is a debut novel that anyone would be proud of and perfect for its genre. Warm, funny, and absolutely addictive!

Not many books have had my crying one moment and laughing the next (Especially not in public, on the train!) I cannot wait to read more from this author in the new year.

This book was published on the 23rd of May by Penguin Michael Joseph, written by Giovanna Fletcher.

I hope you all have a wonderful year,
Lisa Xx
