Saving space in the utility room

Upon moving into our new home one of the rooms I was most looking forward to having was the utility room. What woman doesn’t want one? A place to hide away the washing whilst keeping the washer and dryer out of the kitchen.

What I wasn’t expecting was for our utility room not to match that of the show home we had pictured our home to be. Our utility room only has a space for one machine, unlike the houses we viewed. The extra space is an add-on you pay extra for! This lead to the dryer being placed on top of the work surface taking up a lot of space.

In a bid to utilize the space to its full potential we decided to ditch the separate washing machine and dryer. Opting for a washer dryer, and giving us the best of both in one machine whilst saving space!

We changed to the Samsung AddWash™ Ecobubble WD90K5410OX Washer Dryer giving us plenty of extra space for organising the mountains of laundry we seem to acquire each day!

Not to mention the addition of the amazing add-wash door. Having a 2-year-old and a baby on the way means I’m always needing to add to the wash.

I was sceptical at first but the washer dryer works like a dream. My utility room now resembles that of an organised home, it’s tidy and looks the part!
