Milestone: Taylor is 2 Weeks Old - Daddy Returns to Work

Baby T is already two weeks old and he has changed so much since he was born, It’s amazing how fast they grow.

This week Phillip went back to work, I was a little nervous about my first day alone with T but it wasn’t bad at all. He is so laid back and relaxed most of the time, although I must admit It’s nice when Phillip comes home in the evening to have another adult to talk to. Taylor and I have some very one sided conversations during the day.

We had more visits from family this week which has been nice, so we haven’t been completely on our own all week. Thankfully nobody has turned up before 12:00pm as I’m still not getting any sleep until around 8:00am.
The midwife came this week and weighed baby T to see if he was back up to his birth weight I was amazed to find he had gone from his birth weight 6lb14oz to 7lb01z, this confirmed for me that my boy was feeding and we were doing okay.

– Cue my silent cheers of success after knowing I was doing something right and my baby was thriving because of me! –

It’s impossible to tell how much they’re taking when you breastfeed as you can’t read how many oz’s they’re taking at each feed. You can read more about our feeding story so far in the following post – Nursing a newborn – The midwife also did his heel prick test during the visit, I felt so mean holding him while this was done but he wasn’t bothered at all and went back to sleep afterwards.

I’ve spent most of my week simply watching him, he sleeps a lot during the day and I can’t help sitting and staring at all of the funny little faces he pulls. Who needs a television when you’ve got a newborn bundle of cute to watch?
